The Vienna lager was first introduced in Vienna, Austria in the early 1840s. The Vienna lager has similar characteristics to its Bavarian cousin, the Märzen. Before the introduction of the Vienna and Märzen beers in central Europe, the liquid was most commonly a dark brown shade. The brewers who coined these styles used a British kiln-drying malt technique – using indirect heat as opposed to direct fire – giving the malt and the beer its lighter color. Oh Vienna has a balanced, clean, and soft finish.
